PRETTY BANNER TO BE GOING HERE SOON!

Friending Policy: Point is, most of my ramblings here end up being public when I post and I am MUCH too lazy to change the default to friends only. So yeah friend if you feel like it. I'm here occasionally when I want to be.

Am I priority or an option? Cuz I'm a walking legacy. )

Also fans of the following ships are warmly welcomed to my journal, no questions asked:
JON/STEPHEN, BATMAN/JOKER, OWLMAN/JOKESTER, RAHM/OBAMA, AND KIRK/SPOCK.

Yes, I'm bored and need distraction. Also went ahead and yanked this from [livejournal.com profile] lady_kikyou

The first five people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. Fandoms include Fake News, X:1999/TB, Batman/Nolanverse, Digimon, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Pokemon and Tin Man, and Star Trek.... I think that may be it. I think.

Details for a suggestion would be useful.

I just changed my layout for my insanejournal. It's awesome and totally cute. I would have done the same for this journal but seeing as how I'm still crazily in love with Batman/Joker especially after the ending of [livejournal.com profile] into_entropy I can't bring myself to get rid of this layout. Plus the header is pretty hot.

So I have conformed myself with changing the one on IJ. I'll be updating the icons over there soonish to match my new obsession and once the year is over, I'll be doing the same for my Livejournal account. Eeeeee I can't wait. ♥

Now back to editing NaNoWriMo.

Star Trek// Always Shall Be (SxK)
Thing I love about Kirk/Spock? It's fucking universal and totally allowed to be mentioned in books thus I'm totally excused for having mentioned it more than once in my novel for NaNo. Ha~

Also holy shit I wrote my first K/S ficlet last night. It needs some editing and a few more scenes need to be added in before it's perfect for posting BUT HELL FUCKING SHIT YES, I HAVE FINALLY WRITTEN SOMETHING.

........But now the plotbunnies have attacked.o____o;;
Star Trek// Always love (Primes)
My inner Kirk/Spock shipper is practically squeeing from this discovery on flist. As [personal profile] rhaegal aptly put it THIS IS NOW MY HEAD-CANON.

....Also I'm starting to think this journal is mostly going to be used for my Star Trek babbling seeing as how I'm too lazy to crosspost and post it to LJ. Ah wells.
Star Trek// It wasn't me
So little children who don't know slash like I do step away from entry and pretend it never existed.

The rest of you will probably ignore me because hey I'm fangirling about Star Trek. Meh, no big deal.

My inner nerd she is happy )

....I haven't written anything for it yet. Like whoa.... wtf I need to work on this soon.

Basically this is a heads up to anyone who pays attention to this journal and doesn't see me normally during the day- I'm doing a semi-hiatus this school year.

Again.

My brother gave me a huge talk about me lazing off my AP classes during these past few days let's just say that my first Sunday off resulted in me staying up half the night working on Spanish Lit and Calculus...

I know, I know we've only been in school for like two weeks but seriously? I can't bullshit those classes. and it doesn't help that I have very little time to use the computer as it is Thus I'll be off of livejournal and chatting from Saturdays to Thursdays with only Fridays as my day to chat and talk read/write fic, and generally be lazy.

So yeah falling off the face of the earth for a bit, be back to normal in May. :DD

If you are reading this right now, you have more luxury than someone in Iran could ever hope for right now. If you are watching TV or a video on youtube, updating your status on Facebook, Tweeting, or even texting your friend, you are lucky. If you are safe in your home, and were able to sleep last night without the sounds of screaming from the rooftops, you need to know and understand what is happening to people just like you in Iran right now.

They are not the enemy. They are a people whose election has been stolen. For the first time in a long time, a voice for change struck the youth of Iran, just as it did for many people in the United States only seven months ago. Hossein Mousavi gained the support of millions of people in Iran as a Presidential candidate. He stands for progressiveness. He supports good relations with the West, and the rest of the world. He is supported with fervor as he challenges the oppressive regime of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

On Friday, millions of people waited for hours in line to vote in Iran's Presidential election. Later that night, as votes came in, Mousavi was alerted that he was winning by a two-thirds margin. Then there was a change. Suddenly, it was Ahmadinejad who had 68% of the vote - in areas which have been firmly against his political party, he overwhelmingly won. Within three hours, millions of votes were supposedly counted - the victor was Ahmadinejad. Immediately fraud was suspected - there was no way he could have won by this great a margin with such oppposition. Since then, reports have been coming in of burned ballots, or in some cases numbers being given without any being counted at all. None of this is confirmed, but what happened next seems to do the trick.

The people of Iran took the streets and rooftops. They shout "Death to the dictator" and "Allah o akbar." They join together to protest. Peacefully. The police attack some, but they stay strong. Riots happen, and the shouting continues all night. Text messaging was disabled, as was satellite, and websites which can spread information such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and the BBC are blocked in the country. At five in the morning, Arabic speaking soldiers (the people of Iran speak Farsi) stormed a university in the capital city of Tehran. While sleeping in their dormitories, five students were killed. Others were wounded. These soldiers are thought to have been brought in by Ahmadinejad from Lebanon. Today, 192 of the university's faculty have resigned in protest.

Mousavi requested that the government allow a peaceful rally to occur this morning - the request was denied. Many thought that it would not happen. Nevertheless, first a few thousand people showed up in the streets of Tehran. At this point, it is estimated that 1 to 2 million people were there. Mousavi spoke on the top of a car. The police stood by. For a few hours, everything was peaceful. Right now, the same cannot be said. Reports of injuries, shootings, and killings are flooding the internet. Twitter has been an invaluable source - those in Iran who still know how to access it are updating regularly with picture evidence. People are being brutally beaten. Tonight will be another night without rest for so many in Iran no older than I am. Tonight there is a Green Revolution.

EEEEE PROPER COMMENTS AND SUCH LATER~
Stay Close (S/K)
I signed up for emails to be sent by Courage Campaign and this is so far one of them that I need to just post here. That TV ad really, really angered me so badly- it is just disgusting and wrong.

My partner, Drew, and I are getting married this Saturday. But not in California, where I grew up and my family has lived for more than thirty years.

Let me explain.

On May 1, 2008, we got engaged, even though our fundamental right to be married as a loving, committed couple was not legal at the time in the state of California. We made this momentous decision because we believed in affirming a lifelong partnership in the eyes of our family and friends, regardless of the state's failure to recognize our civil rights.

A mere two weeks later, the state Supreme Court announced its historic decision, establishing the constitutional right of same-sex couples to be married in California.

Like so many others, Drew and I were ecstatic. As we made our plans to marry, however, we learned that our rights might be taken away by Proposition 8. So we waited until after the November 4 election, because we wanted our vows to be as permanent as our intentions.

On November 4, 2008, our fundamental right to marriage in California was eliminated by the shocking passage of Proposition 8.

And that is why we will be legally married this coming Saturday in the state of Connecticut, where lawyers tell us we'll always have equal rights.

However, according to the state of California, our marriage will be meaningless.

This is not acceptable. Equality belongs to everyone and same-sex marriage should not be reserved for those who can only travel to another state, 3,000 miles away.

That's why I asked my family last week to make a $25,000 challenge grant to support the Courage Campaign's transformative "Camp Courage" training program for marriage equality activists -- a personal action in direct response to the National Organization for Marriage's $1.5 million "Gathering Storm" national TV ad campaign.

Your response to this challenge -- "turning fear into hope" -- has been phenomenal. In less than five days, your collective generosity has yielded $72,572, making it the most successful single response ever to a Courage Campaign community request for support.

I'm so inspired by this community's commitment to love, fairness and equality in the face of the religious right's fear-mongering TV ad.

And now I hope you'll join me in helping the Courage Campaign reach the amazing milestone of raising $100,000 online in response to this disturbing 60-second ad. Please click here to contribute what you can afford today (and watch the "Gathering Storm" ad, if you haven't seen it already):

http://www.couragecampaign.org/TurnFearIntoHope

I believe in the Camp Courage training program because it is laying the foundation of restoring marriage equality to California -- and it represents the future of community organizing. Modeled after Camp Obama, the program utilizes the "Story of Self" to transform personal experiences into compelling and authentic narratives that can persuade undecided voters.

To change the hearts and minds of our fellow Californians, we all need to tell our own stories about how Prop 8 has affected us, our families, and our friends. Just like I have today, by expressing why this is so very personal.

That's the only way we will win back our rights -- and the only way the marriages of so many same-sex couples will have meaning in California once again.

Let's make it to $100,000 for marriage equality today.

With much gratitude for your support,
Tom Dolby, joined by my future husband, Drew Frist

STFU I KNOW I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO BE USING THIS SLOW FUCKING DESKTOP FOR LIVEJOURNAL BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT

“That’s why when someone asks me ‘Are gay rights civil rights?’ My answer is always ‘of course they are’. Civil rights… civil rights are positive legal prerogatives- the right to equal treatment before the law. These are the rights shared by everyone. There is no one in the United States who does not or should not enjoy or share in enjoying these rights. Gay and lesbian rights are not special rights in any way. It isn’t special to free from discrimination- it is an ordinary universal entitlement of citizenship… We’ve amended the U.S constitution only seventeen times, since the adoption of the Bill of Rights. Aside from Prohibition which was quickly acknowledged to be a mistake and repealed. We’ve amended the constitution only to expand and protect people’s rights- never to restrict them, never to take them away"
